How to get a library card
Getting a library card is simple and free. All you need to bring with you is an ID and proof of address such as a letter. If the card is for a child (17 and under) an adult must be present with their ID and the proof of address.
How long you can keep library materials
There are three types of patrons, Regular, Homeschool, and Teachers. Homeschool and teachers accounts have a checkout period of one month. Regular patrons can keep books for two weeks and dvds for one week. All materials can be renewed any number of times unless they have been put on hold for another patron.
What if we don’t have the book you want to read
We have a program called Inter-Library Loan. It allows us to ask another library in the United States to let us borrow a book we don’t own for you. This program is of course free, all you have to do is ask! If we are able to get the book ordered it is usually delivered in around a week. The lending library sets the due date for the material, so if you need a renewal we have to have a few days notice.
What does the library charge for overdue material
As a reminder we will always renew your library material unless another patron has requested it. All you have to do is call us. We also give you three different notices once your materials are overdue.
Fines for —
Books and other library material are 10 cents a day up to $2.
DvD’s are $1 a day up to $10. (We do everything we are able to so you do not get overdue fines for DvDs.)
